The Decider visits Monticello

On July 4th, George W. Bush scored another perfect “10” on the Irony Meter. Addressing the 46th Annual Naturalization Ceremony at Monticello, home of Thomas Jefferson, the President spoke about “free speech in America” as police arrested and dragged protestors from the crowd.

The Decider, during whose reign the Bill of Rights has been trampled and the Constitution mocked; who has suspended habeas corpus, conducted torture, and spied on Americans; who has made a farce of the rule of law and desecrated our reputation around the world, welcomed new immigrants to this nation.

The Founding Fathers wept.

“Experience hath shewn, that even under the best forms (of government) those entrusted with power have, in time, and by slow operations, perverted it into tyranny.” Thomas Jefferson (1788)

“A dictatorship would be a heck of a lot easier, there's no question about it." George W. Bush (July 30, 2001)
